Here's a brief summery: 20 now, going to Uni, studying archeaolgy and classics (Ancient Greek/Latin). Most of the new stuff will be digital using either photoshop elements and/or deep paint. I do hope, someday, to be a 'proper' fantasy artist. Thinking realistically, it will prbably remain a mere hoby. I am up for comisions if anyone's interested. Please email me, my email should be just to the side.

I like my new bio pic- I didn't do the effects but I do have permission to use the pic.

*Scanner found; thanks to Maxine.

Comments are most welcome, especially any constructive criticism. I'm always trying to improve . If you do comment and have a gallery of your own, I always make sure to repay your effort and take a visit.

Please don't use my art without asking first (that's if anyone actually want's to use it). Exception: You needn't ask if it's for an Elfwood tour (but it is nice for me to know, then I can pay the tour a visit).

I also have a tour called 'Australasians of the woods' for Australian and New Zealand elfwood artists. If you fall into one of those categories, metion it when you comment and I'll include one of your pictures in the tour.

NB: the world map *might* be accurate to within a 1000 or so kilometers- I'm not sure on my exact location having recetnly moved to Uni. It can stay that way.

Interests
Art, Archeology, playing piano (esp. music from the Final Fantasy games), video games (see above).
Favorite Fantasy/Scifi Movies and TV Shows
Stargate, Star Trek, Firefly, Doctor Who, Laputa, The Ring (Japanese versions).
Favorite Fantasy/Scifi Books
The Pearl Saga (Eric Lustbader), Keys to the Kingdom series (Garth Nix), The Discworld books, War of the Worlds
Favorite Music
Meh...too much variety. I do like the Nobuo Uematsu's music a lot. Enough to have a playlist dedicated to FF music (...err and a half dozen or more pieces I don't tire of such as Mozart's "Oh Fortuna", well that's what it's listed as. I strongly believe up to a third of my music is mislabled in some way). Ones I don't listen to are rap, r'n'b and country.

I love these things, the famous Australian truck trains. This one has four trailers! I wish we weren’t such wimps, I bet many truckers would love to get behind the wheel of one of these.

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Your link’s dean I’m afraid.

And there was me thinking that 3 trailors are the limit for road trains. They would work over in America, your roads are wide and straight enough for them.

One of the kids in my class in primary school’s dad drove a road train and one day it was organised to be brough to show and tell so to speak. It’s awsome for a little kid to climb up and walk in one of the refrigorated trailors."

Hi dear Shelz Keast,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your kind and precious visit to my gallery.
Secondly, for such a nice comment you placed there, which I really appreciated.
Thirdly and most important, for giving me the opportunity to find you....

What can I say more? You are so creative and it seems that for you, there is no limit for delighting us with your art. I wish I could show through my drawings as much as you do through yours. You are a real artist my friend, and every new drawing you make (be it with color or without color) is completely unique.

Sincerely,

Rss

But then don’t forget you’re not half bad yourself."

18 Hi Shelz, thank you for taking the time to comment on my art.
You have so much good stuff, ´Sleeping Naga` is still one of my favorites of yours, very nice details, the shading is brilliant and the detail are magic.
For good times! 12

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "And thanks in return for your own comment. I like the Sleeping Naga a lot too."

Unfortuntely all I have to say has been said before..but i must admit i believe you have an impressive gallery thats filled with creative immagination...i’ve enjoyed it loads....2...Thanks again for the encouraging advice...i won’t give up and i hope you continute to keep up with the awesome art 1

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Well I deliberatly try not to repeat anything that I’ve seen before which kinda forces me to be very creative. The rest is lots and lots of hours of practice.

The Terry Pratchet novels are a good source of inspiration. At least for ways of thinking."
8 Sep 2009:-) Elena Este

I greatly enjoyed your beautiful and unusual gallery. You have a delightful sense of humor. I commented on your "Poincianna Woman" mentioning the song, which you had never heard. It doesn’t go with your interesting legend, but it was a beautiful song which you might like.

POINCIANA (SONG OF THE TREE)
(Songwriters : Buddy Bernier / Nat Simon)

Recorded by many artists including
Kay Kyser, Vaughn Monroe, Bing Crosby, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Vic Damone, Johnny Mathis, The Ventures, Ferrante & Teicher, Dave Brubeck, Bert Kaempfert, Robert Goulet, and Arthur Lyman during the period 1941 to 1989

Blow Tropic wind, sing a song to the trees
Trees sigh to me, soon my love I will see

Poinciana, your branches speak to me of love
Pale moon is casting shadows from above
Poinciana, somehow I feel the jungle heat
Within me there grows a rhythmic savage beat

Love is ev’rywhere, its magic perfume fills the air
To and fro you sway, my heart’s in time, I’ve learned to care

Poinciana, though skies may turn from blue to gray
My love will live forever and a day
Poinciana, from now until the dawning day
I’ll learn to love forever, come what may.

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Wow, this must be Poinciana week or something. (I got a whole heap of comments and started typing up the stories properly)

Thank you for the lyrics. No, they don’t quite go with the Poiciana woman, but they’re still nice."

Hi there!! long time eh? Its DIWALI here, the biggest Hindu festival in the world also called the festival of lights.. and of course any festival is incomplete without wishing all friends and family 2

So here’s wishing you a very Happy and Joyous DIWALI..
May you be blessed with Health, Wealth, Peace and Prosperity 1
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "And I’ve actually heard of Diwali. My hall is having it’s own small celebration on Sunday. Their posters advertising it are a bit misleading, they don’t state that it’s Hindu and their pictures look Chinese (Diwali doesn’t sound at all Chinese though) Well it’s a chance to get some lotus cakes 12"

Some really great pieces here. Keep it up. You might end up being a "proper" fantasy artist after all 2

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "Thank you very much for such an encouraging comment 2"
