Frill necked lizard from Darwin Botanic gardens in the NT. Photo taken by me.

Frillies are a part of growing up in Darwin as most primary schools have them. They're rather fond of black wattles. They're amusing to watch run from tree to tree as they run on their hind legs. A feature that seems common among the Agamids. I have enver seen one with it's frill much more errect than this one's is. They're fairly hefty creatures and you would *not* like one run up your leg.

Cool lizard! Looks just shy of a meter long?

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "From tail tip to snout he’d probably be just over a meter. But then Agamids tend to have very long tails in proportion to their body length. Especially the little ones."

As long as it hasn’t got eight legs and moves like a rocket I like it.

:-) Shelz Keast replies: "It can move fast if it wants to- but they don’t like moving."
