	1st alien farmer: Looky 'ere Fred. It's another of 'em dang cropcirlce! 2nd alien farmer: Sure is Bob! A change from my normal drawings. (Even my art teacher told me "it is so not you"). The graffiti, like graffiti everywhere is unimanginative and unashamable. The alien's "speech" is based on real cropcirlce designs.

This style might be worth cultivating further - all the little dots and lines in the background must have taken quite a bit of time to do, but the effect is good! And better still - the picture made me smile: Quite an original take with the alien hillbillies Shelz Keast replies: "Thank you! Being pedantic they are actually little lines in the background, but that got lost scanning (or for anyone who uses reading glasses). Unfortunately the pen I used for this has decided not to work anymore and dip pens don't produce a steady enough ink flow (that's just my opinion). I also quite like the aliens, I think they are what make this picture."

I also like the hillbilly aliens--very original, while still making them such stereotypical aliens. And I love the dual perspective, like a comic. Shelz Keast replies: "It's actually my first attempt at anything remotely like a comic. As it is I'm quite pleased with it. Unfortunatly the original is water damaged, along with everthing else in that skecth book (it is NOT fun riding a bike in a torrential downpour)"

(oh, just read two posts up.....I’m sorry you lost the original! at least you have the soft copy here ) Shelz Keast replies: "I still have the original, albeit a bit water damaged around the edges. "
9 Jul 2008	Heidi Hecht	Loading... LOL, back at you, silly aliens! I always imagined crop circles were aliens playing pranks on poor farmers, in those cases where people can’t prove it was faked. Different is good. Your other art is pretty good but sometimes artists produce their best stuff when they deviate from their normal style. So don’t let anybody tell you you can’t. Shelz Keast replies: "Do I even have a normal style?"

Fun, fun, fun ... and ... well, is it just me or is graffiti paint on walls, whereas crop circles are circles in the crops? ... or am I looking at it wrong? Shelz Keast replies: "Graffiti isn’t only paint of walls, there’s ancient graffiti on quite a few of the Egyptain monuments that’s carved in. I take graffiti as being any piece of writting that’s been illegally put somewhere. So I doubt the author of the crop circle asked if the aliens were cool with having half their field flattened."
